We released a tool on github that allows spout into the disguise media server via their renderstream protocol. Unfortunately it is bound to their hardware, but hopefully we will have some other tools in the near future.

Hello, is it possible to use spout in/out alongside Disguise on the same machine without using a operate render machine?

Unfortunately no, you will need either a secondary disguise box or a render node, as it utilizes the networking port to work. Ideally though you wouldn’t want a second software running on the same machine as disguises viewports require exclusive access to the displays

So I know there is renderstream to spout library on GitHub, communication is over LAN, is this quicker than NDI?

Communication is over lan, it’s less resources intensive than NDI and it can also be uncompressed at higher bit depths. We’ve found it’s slightly more reliable than NDI
