# Unreal plugin fail help!

Hi @mikestjean,

If Unreal Engine is using DirectX 12, this is not compatible with the Spout plugin which is DirectX 11. Perhaps [this post](https://spout.discourse.group/t/spout-unreal-engine-4-25-crash-with-ray-tracing-enabled/109/9) might be relevant. If it relates to your problem, a solution is offered by @offworldlive if you contact them.
