What would it take to get a Spout to NDI HX3 application built? Could I help fund that? I am desperate for a way to 8k B2B at festivals and there isn’t really a solution ATM. This would be that solution. Please & Thanks
I have to answer quickly without going into it in detail but I will check later. I believe you need the NDI “Advanced SDK” which has a fee. 8k is a big ask though and there is no guarantee that HX3 would do the job.
Spout to NDI uses a shader to convert to YUV format for highest speed. I seem to recall that the best is around 30fps at 4K on the local machine. You can test this with the existing applications. I am not sot sure what happens over a network.
Meanwhile you might try “Open Media Transport” which they say has high speed.
They give bandwidth figures for 2160p at different quality. It’s still a long way from 8K though.
